Medical Benefits

Many of the health care services and benefits for AmeriHealth Caritas Ohio members are listed below. Services must be medically necessary, and provided or coordinated by your primary care provider (PCP) unless otherwise noted. Talk with your PCP or call Member Services at 1-833-764-7700 (TTY 1-833-889-6446) if you have any questions or need help with any health services.

For some benefits, you have to be a certain age or have a certain need for the service.

  • Behavioral health services (including mental health and substance use disorder treatment)

  • Developmental therapy services for children from birth to age 6

  • Physical exam required for employment or for participation in job training programs if the exam is not provided free of charge by another source

  • Renal dialysis (kidney disease) services
  • Respite services for members younger than 21 with long-term services and supports (LTSS) or members with behavioral health needs
  • Screening and counseling for obesity
  • Services for children with medical handicaps (Title V)

  • Speech and hearing services, including hearing aids
  • Telehealth services
  • Tobacco cessation services: Call 1-800-QUIT-NOW (1-800-784-8669) and speak with an intake specialist to discuss assistance to help you quit tobacco.
  • Vision (optical) services, including eyeglasses
  • Well-child (Healthchek) exams for children younger than 21
  • Yearly checkups for adults
